I recently purchased a JD 4110, with Curtis Cab, heater, 410 loader, snow blower, block heater, and Curtis plow. Awesome machine. I have 15.3 hours on the machine. I was using the snow blower for 5 hours yesterday, and everthing was working well.
Today, I had used the snow blower for about 30 mintues when the coolant light came on. It was at first bright, then went dim, and now it is flashing. I have made certain that there is nothing blocking the grills. the light still flashes.
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or any thoughts? Also, it appears the shear pins are busted.
Kind of disappointing since today is aperfect day to move some snow piles.
Thank you.

The tractor is still in its break-in period. The old style of breaking in an engine is to avoid extended periods of full throttle operation and to vary the throttle and rpm frequently. The explanation may be just that the new engine was under a higher load than it's prepared for.

I don't know if the old style still applies to new tractors but the idea was that new engines might run hot under load. Frequent changing of throttle and rpm is supposed to help the rings seat--I've never been sure exactly how rings are supposed to seat or how they are different when they do.

There is nothing that says that a new switch will be perfect. You did not say you checked the coolant, find the switch and see how it is activated either in the recovery tank or in the radiator. ....
